Pastor McDowell serves as the Associate Pastor at St. Peter's. 

Professional History

Pastor McDowell was raised in the Houston, Texas area. Thrilled with the idea of science and math, he went to Purdue to study engineering. There Adam met his future wife Lyndi. Then while attending school, God called Adam to the ministry. Pastor McDowell went back to his home town and attended University of Houston and received a bachelor’s in Interpersonal Communication with a minor in Religious Studies. This degree would be very useful in his future ministry; however, the minor would not come close to the rigorous yet fulfilling studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. Adam graduated from the seminary this year and is eager to start God’s call for him at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Family

Pastor and his wife Lyndi have a daughter named Elena. Elena was born in June and is already filling their hearts will love, joy, and a little bit of healthy parental anxiety.

Other Interests

Pastor McDowell has interests in technology, wood working, and baseball. When he isn’t tinkering with some project, he can be found watching a St. Louis Cardinal’s game with Lyndi. They also enjoy spending time playing board games or being in each other’s company while reading. They look forward to raising little Elena at St. Peter’s and to cheering on the Boilermakers.

Pastor McDowell has a passion to support and teach the youth and young adults who face a world that is complex and ever changing. Likewise, he seeks to always strengthen the disciples that God has made by the name of Jesus.
