Name and Title

Pastor Nate Widener, Associate Pastor & Director of Community of Care.

Responsibilities at St. Peter's

Nate Widener serves not only as pastor of St. Peter's, but he also is responsible for developing and maintaining the congregation's vision plan called "Community of Care."

Professional History

After receiving his Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma, Pasotr Nate went on to provide drug and alcohol counseling for a non-for-profit organization in his hometown of Chickasha, Oklahoma. For ten years he helped clients on the path to recovery who suffered from various issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence and co-occurring mental health disorders. Pastor Nate helped people of all ages and economic statuses and came to realize that sin is the same for everyone, regardless of their background, and that we all need to hear the Gospel. This led him to Seminary. Now, as pastor, he intends to continue his ministry by helping those in need and reaching out to those who have never heard that Jesus Christ died on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven!

Family

Pastor Nate is blessed to be married to a wonderful woman, Amy, and is grateful to have received the gift of two daughters, Gwyndalyn and Sophia.  Both girls are active in the arts and enjoy painting, acting and singing in their schools choir.

Other Interests

In his free time Pastor Nate enjoys playing and listening to music, working on his car, and watching Hockey. Both he and his family are avid fans of the Fort Wayne Komets and enjoy watching games at the Coliseum.
