ATHLETIC AWARDS
After the last spring sport has ended, all athletes are recognized for their participation in athletics during the past year at a ceremony held in our gym and cafeteria. Families are asked to bring a dessert to share. Drinks and table service are provided. Each athlete is presented with a certificate that indicates the sport(s) he participated in during the year. Following the presentation of awards everyone is invited to share the desserts and enjoy the fellowship. There are special awards for 8th graders. Each athlete who has participated in a particular sport all the years it was offered, receives a small trophy. The ‘All-Sport’ award is for those 8th graders who were in all the sports every year. These athletes are recognized last and receive a large trophy. The evening concludes with a slide show as a year in review.
Held in May.

END OF THE YEAR AWARDS
On the last day of school each year (usually in the morning) we hold a special ceremony to recognize students for various honors. Those include: band, choir, hand bells, Accelerated Reader accomplishments, Honor Roll, Kiwanis, along with individual classroom honors. Everyone is invited to this special awards ceremony and chapel service.
Held on the last day of school.

FIELD TRIPS
Each class has a variety of field trips during the school year. Volunteers are needed to supervise the class with the teacher. Many field trips are during the spring to end of the year. Please see your child’s teacher for a list of dates and destinations; most field trips are already scheduled before school starts. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your child and to get to know the students in your child’s class.
Throughout the school year.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS' DAY
We have Family & Friends’ Day in November, usually the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We invite students to bring grandparents, aunts, uncles, or some other special adult with them. The guests arrive in the gym where they may greet each other while enjoying coffee and cookies. They then walk around the school, from classroom to classroom, with their students to view work and participate in activities. The day concludes with a chapel service in the church. Following the chapel service, the students are dismissed for the day.
Held on the day before Thanksgiving.

HONOR'S BREAKFAST
Sometime during May we hold a special breakfast to honor those students in grades 5-8 who achieved Honor Roll or Honorable Mention during each of the first three quarters of the year. To attain Honor Roll status a student must have earned all A’s in math, English, spelling, literature, social studies, and science. They also must not have earned a failing grade in all other subjects. To attain Honorable Mention status a student must have earned no less than a B- in math, English, spelling, literature, social studies, and science nor have failed any other subject. Look for those invitations to come home with your student.
Held in May.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Back to School Night gives parents an opportunity to come and see your child’s classroom and hear a presentation from his/her teacher detailing the upcoming school year. This meeting is mandatory. On that same night there will also be a general meeting, usually hosted by our principal. These meetings are very beneficial to you and offer you a chance to meet and share fellowship with other St. Peter’s families.
Held during the first full week of school in August.

SCHOOL PICTURES
Each fall, school pictures are taken, usually in September. Volunteers are needed to help with pictures and organizing the students.
Held in September.
