"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another."
1 Peter 4:10

Spring Session

  • April 14-May 19
  • 5:30 pm Dinner (Cornerstone Room)
  • 6:10 pm Devotion (Cornerstone Room)
  • 6:30 pm Classes (Various)

We'd love to share a meal with you at dinner, but if that doesn't work with your schedule, you're invited to come to any part of HOPE Sessions that does!

We're trying something NEW for dinner. With our theme of "service" (and since every pot luck we've offered has been out of this world delicious), we have a different main dish prepped each week and a sign up to bring sides and whatnot. HOPE Teachers will take the first week!

Get creative or keep it simple. Click the link to sign up and see what's on the menu!

  • Spiritual Conversations in the Digital Age

Man in suit, smiling, with light beard, against a dark blue and gray textured backdrop.

    Leader: Pastor Danny Eggold

    Location: TBD

The way we talk to each other has changed, and so has the way we share our faith. Social media and technology have opened up new opportunities, but they’ve also made those conversations feel more complicated. In this HOPE session, we will explore what it really looks like to share the Good News today, from both the person sharing and the person hearing.

Whether you’re a longtime believer or just getting started, you’ll walk away with practical tools to talk about your faith with confidence.

  • Adult Information Class (AIC)

Clerical man with glasses and beard, wearing a black suit and collar, smiling.

    Leader: Pastor Nate Widener

    Location: TBD

Join Pastor Nate as he guides you through the major teachings of the ancient church, including the Trinity (Father-Son-Holy Spirit), the Sacraments (Baptism-Lord’s Supper), the message of the Bible, the life of the Church, etc. Also included is vital information to help you get connected with the family of believers at St. Peter’s – and beyond! Christ’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) to the church is that we would CONNECT with His Word and Sacraments in worship with fellow believers, that we would GROW in our understanding of His truth, and that we would SHARE this good news with a world starving for answers and dying to live. Fundamentals of Faith is a great place to start!

  • Faith & Conflict in the Middle East

Man with glasses and beard, wearing clerical collar and gray blazer, smiles.

    Leader: Pastor McDowell

    Location: TBD

What does the Bible have to say about the lands and conflicts we hear about in today’s news?

We will step back from headlines and walk through the deeper story rooted in Scripture. Together, we will explore how God worked through nations like Persia and Israel, how key biblical events unfolded in the Middle East, and how those events continue to shape the world we see today.

This is not a political class, but a biblical and historical one. We will look at well-known stories like Daniel in the lions’ den, the return from exile, and the rise and fall of empires and connect them to the broader history of the region. Along the way, we will also consider how differing beliefs and worldviews have contributed to ongoing tensions.

Above all, this study will help us see that God remains at work in history. As we grow in understanding, we will also grow in faith, confidence, and prayer for a world in need of His peace

  • The Personal Touch of Jesus

    Leader: Rev. Richard Koehneke

    Location: TBD

The Gospel of John contains some incidents that are not reported by the other three Gospel writers. We will take an in-depth look at six of these, including several that were in our Lenten Gospel readings. As we see Jesus engaging with people in a variety of situations, we will grow in our knowledge and appreciation of our Lord and Savior. He meets us where we are and cares for us in the way that we need.

  • Visual Faith: Creating Art Rooted in the Word

Leader: Vicki Fitzgerald & Luann Hockemeyer

    Location: NEW Lower Level Classroom

Join Vicki and Luann in a creative journey where faith and art come together! In this hands-on course, we’ll explore how the visual arts can deepen (and slow) our time in God’s Word and strengthen our walk with Christ. Each week, we’ll reflect on the Scripture readings, then create visual expressions, through journaling, lettering, or other media, that help us see and remember God’s promises in fresh ways.

Grounded in Lutheran theology and guided by Visual Faith Ministries resources, this gathering is for anyone—artists, doodlers, or beginners—who desires to connect creativity with devotion. Come and discover how the Holy Spirit works through the gift of art to shape our hearts, share the Gospel, and encourage one another in faith.

  • Drums of Praise

Woman in gym clothes with tablet, next to exercise ball; group of people in the background.

    Leader: Alicia Rodenbeck

    Main Gym

Drums Alive is a program that utilizes “whole brain – whole body” thinking by developing sensory motor reflexes and kinesthetic awareness. The physiological and psychological benefits are numerous including those found in traditional forms of aerobic fitness. Drumming has also been found to improve and increase the neurological connection between the 2 brain hemispheres, stimulating Alpha brain wave activity which can lead to higher levels of concentration, sensory/motor improvement, and an overall sense of well being. In Drums of Praise, Certified Drums Alive Coach, Alicia Rodenbeck, will lead participants through a short meditation on a verse highlighting God's Masterwork in the human body before leading a fun and uplifting drumming workout suitable for all ages and abilities. Come to drum away some stress or to dance and find some joy!
